Charges over shoot-out
The charges against Leighton Coke are linked to the bloody stand-off between police and gunmen during the search for alleged drug kingpin Christopher “Dudus” Coke in May.
At least 73 civilians and three security officers died during the four-day confrontation.
Police said in a statement today that Leighton Coke was a leading figure in the drugs ring that his brother ran in the eastern United States from a slum in Jamaica.
Leighton Coke is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
Christopher Coke is in jail in New York and has pleaded not guilty.
