Woman held on MP stab charge

A 21-YEAR-OLD woman was remanded in custody yesterday after she appeared in court charged with attempting to kill Labour MP Stephen Timms at his office in east London.

Roshonara Choudhary is accused of stabbing Timms, the 54-year-old former Treasury minister in the previous Labour government, as he met constituents last Friday.

He was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery on injuries. His condition is now stable.
