Bomb blast kills three children

A BOMB strapped to the back of a donkey blew up in the centre of Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar yesterday, killing three children and wounding five people.

The bomb struck close to a police post guarding the residence of a tribal chief and ally of President Hamid Karzai in an area where several government buildings are located.

Zalmai Ayoubi, a spokesman for the provincial governor, said three nephews of the tribal chief, Fazluddin, were killed, while three pedestrians and two police were wounded.
