Goody widower accused of raping shy teen
Jack Tweed attacked the then-19-year-old while his friend Anthony Davis held the bedroom door shut and told him: “Do what you’ve got to do”, Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London heard.
Tweed, a 22-year-old club promoter, denies attacking the young woman in the early hours of September 4 last year.
Linda Strudwick, prosecuting, said the alleged victim and her friends went to Tweed’s house in Brandesbury Square, Repton Park, Woodford Green, east London, after a night out at the Embassy club in Mayfair.
The woman was shy and “made it plain to both defendants that she was not interested in them sexually”, Strudwick said.
But Davis pushed her into a bedroom and called for Tweed to join him, the court was told.
Strudwick went on: “They knew, the Crown say, that she was frightened and did not want to be alone with them.
“Anthony Davis held the door shut, saying to Jack Tweed ‘Don’t worry, Jack, I’ve got the door, do what you’ve got to do’.”
The woman’s friends interrupted the scene and she was able to leave the bedroom, the court heard.
Strudwick said: “Anthony Davis then grabbed her and pushed her into the bedroom. She tried to walk out but Anthony Davis called for Jack Tweed, who came straight in.”
Strudwick said:
“Her friends tried to get into the room but they were told to go away and that made her more scared.”
The court heard that, after Tweed raped her the first time, the young woman was able to push him away and move towards the door, but he pushed her back on to the bed.
The court heard that Tweed then raped her again.
She then struggled to escape as Davis raped her, the court was told.
The court heard that, on the night of the alleged attack, Tweed drank five beers and “several” vodka lemonades.
The young woman had “drunk comparatively little” but took a small amount of cocaine at the club, the hearing was told.
Tweed denies two counts of rape while Davis denies one count. Both defendants are on bail.
