Bomb kills 11 from family

AN Afghan official says a roadside bomb has killed 11 members of one family in southern Afghanistan.

Helmand provincial government spokesman Daoud Ahmadi says the family was piled onto a tractor with a truck-bed hitched on back when the vehicle struck a bomb yesterday afternoon.

The family was travelling on a main road commonly used by international and Afghan forces. All aboard died, including two women and two children.
