Live Aid honour

LIVE Aid was named the most important music event of the last 30 years by a study released today, 25 years after the release of Band Aid’s groundbreaking single Do They Know It’s Christmas?

The song helped to spark the ideas behind the massive Live Aid concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia in July 1985 – dubbed “the day that rock and roll changed the world”.

Digital music broadcaster Music Choice found Live Aid’s overall significance in shaping the music industry came second only to the launch of downloadable music.
