Berlusconi’s wife launches €43m a year divorce claim

ITALIAN Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s estranged wife is seeking €43 million a year in alimony in a divorce case she launched after her husband was embroiled in a sex scandal.

The bid was immediately rejected by the billionaire media mogul, an Italian newspaper reported yesterday. Veronica Lario’s lawyer was unavailable for comment last night on the report in Corriere della Sera.

The alimony request, part of separation procedures, would work out to more than €3.5m a month.
