Cameron promises emergency budget if Tories elected

THE Conservative Party would carry out an emergency budget to tackle the country’s record deficit within 50 days, if it won the parliamentary election, leader David Cameron said yesterday.

The centre-right Conservatives are widely expected to win the election, due by June, and have already said they want to cut spending by £23 billion (€25.5bn) by 2015.

Cameron also said the Conservatives would set out plans to get the economy going again through business investment.
