Cole’s brother faces arrest
Andrew Tweedy, 29, was due at Newcastle Crown Court for allegedly breaching the terms of the suspended prison sentence he was given for squirting pepper spray in a stranger’s face.
But he failed to turn up and a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
His barrister, Paul Caulfield, told the court: “I don’t know why he isn’t here, he has been informed of the proceedings.”
Tweedy was spared jail in May for attacking Lee Clark in August last year.
Mr Clark, 30, was walking home from work when he was pounced on.
Tweedy admitted common assault and possession of a prohibited weapon and was sentenced to 36 weeks imprisonment suspended for two years with 12 months supervision and 100 hours unpaid work.
He has previously been jailed for six years for a stabbing and four years for mugging a teenager.
