Actress Dunst gives evidence

SPIDER-MAN actress Kirsten Dunst yesterday served as a witness against a man charged with stealing her purse from a New York City hotel suite while she was on a movie set.

Dunst, 27, told the New York court that she was filming How to Lose Friends and Alienate People at the SoHo Grand hotel when she discovered her $2,000 (€1,350) Balenciaga bag and its contents, including $2,000 in cash, were missing. The purse and her credit cards were eventually returned.

James Jimenez, 35, is charged with burglary.
