Singers back Oxfam drive
The Oxfam She Changes Lives campaign champions the midwives, paediatricians, HIV carers, and others doing life-changing work in their communities.
Zoe Ball and Kate Thornton also offered their support to the campaign.
The celebrities each highlighted the plight of an individual.
An Oxfam spokeswoman said: “Oxfam’s work finds that women are often working in the worst conditions for the lowest pay.
“More money and more opportunities for women would give them the chance to work their way out of poverty, provide for their children and help fill the gap, when six million more health workers and teachers are needed in the developing world.
“The work of these incredible women is changing the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. But many people are still going without any medical treatment at all, because they cannot access or afford the vital healthcare they need.”
