NORTH and South Korea have agreed to hold a new round of reunions for separated families next month for the first time in nearly two years.

The two sides issued a statement saying they will hold six days of temporary reunions involving a total of 200 families from September 26.

The agreement follows rare talks and are the latest signs of easing tensions on the divided peninsula.
