French plane crash kills five

REGIONAL emergency services say a small tourist plane has crashed in a field in southern France, killing all five people on board.

The emergency service for the Var region says the Cessna plane crashed in the village of Callas yesterday, and immediately caught fire.

Some 40 firefighters were summoned to put out the blaze.
