Sarkozy: Experts working to avoid gaps in air traffic control

FRENCH President Nicolas Sarkozy says international officials are working out ways to avoid gaps in air traffic control over the Atlantic Ocean.

Sarkozy says France’s Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and Cooperation Minister Alain Joyandet were to head to Dakar to meet with Senegalese officials and discuss how to make sure “there is no more black hole” in air traffic control.

Sarkozy was speaking at a news conference with Brazil’s president. Both leaders have cooperated after Air France Flight 447 crashed en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, which killed all 228 people.
