THE Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam is to mount a permanent exhibit of her diaries and other writings as part of activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of her birth today.

Anne died aged 15 in a concentration camp, but her posthumously published diary made her a symbol of all Jews killed in the second World War.

She wrote while hiding from the Nazis in a secret apartment in Amsterdam.

Until now her writings have been kept by the Netherlands Institute for War Documentation.
