DNA from murder suspect Amanda Knox was found on the handle of a kitchen knife and victim Meredith Kercher’s DNA was on the tip, a court in Italy has heard.

Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito are charged with the murder and sexual assault of Ms Kercher, 21, who was found semi-naked with her throat cut in the house she shared with Knox in Perugia.

The court has already heard from prosecutors who say she was killed after refusing to take part in a drug-fuelled sex game.

Yesterday, forensic scientist Patrizia Stefanoni told the court how her team had recorded 460 biological traces at the crime scene.
