BRITISH Prime Minister Gordon Brown is hoping some of US President Barack Obama’s glamour will rub off on him as he tries to recover from a political pummelling before elections next month.

A television campaign ad for the June 4 local and European elections, released by Brown’s Labour Party yesterday, shows several clips of Obama during a visit to London last month to take part in a summit on the financial crisis hosted by Brown.

“Barack Obama and I share the same values. We want to build a stronger society. And we’re working together so that America, Britain and the rest of the world can come to common solutions that will help all our economies together,” Brown says in the ad.
