Iraq calls US raid a ‘crime’

IRAQ’S prime minister denounced a deadly US raid yesterday as a “crime” that violated the security pact with Washington.

The US military, however, strongly denied that it overstepped its bounds and said it notified Iraqi authorities in advance.

The raid in the southern Shi’ite city of Kut left at least one person dead and six were arrested.
