With an economy in crisis, protracted wars on two fronts and overwhelming expectation at home and overseas, President Barack Obama’s first 100 days were never likely to be a dull affair.

An early blizzard of activity gave way to the practicalities of office with a multi-billion dollar economic recovery plan and some major hiccups over cabinet appointees.
