Afghan women pelted during protest

ABOUT 300 Afghan women were pelted by stones as they protested yesterday over a new law they say legalises marital rape.

Police struggled to keep opponents away from them in Kabul.

The law, passed last month, says a husband can demand sex with his wife every four days unless she is ill or would be harmed by intercourse.
