Age milestone for centenarian

Britain’s oldest man, Henry Allingham, yesterday reached another milestone in his remarkable life by becoming the oldest ever British man.

He turned 112 years and 296 days yesterday, surpassing Welshman John Evans who died in 1990 aged 112 years and 295 days. Allingham is one of two surviving World War I veterans in Britain.
