Irate salesman lashes out

A DOOR-TO-DOOR salesman assaulted a potential customer after suffering repeated rejection in his attempts to shift double glazing and conservatories, police said yesterday.

Leo Wardrup, aged 18, of Wymondham, Norfolk, lashed out at a retired man in the Norwich area.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said officers had received reports that Wardrup pressed the man’s face against a door, repeatedly rang doorbells and continually opened and closed a gate.

Wardrup was fined £125 (€134) and ordered to pay £65 (€70) costs after being found guilty of assault and threatening behaviour.
