MORE than 100 people were evacuated after a large fire broke out in an historic area of central London yesterday.

A London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesman said 12 fire engines were sent to the blaze in an office block in Bream’s Buildings, Chancery Lane, at about 3.40pm. About 60 firefighters were at the scene where the fifth floor and roof of the building housing the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal were ablaze.

An LFB spokesman said there were no reports of anyone trapped in the fire.
