Husband faces murder charge

THE founder of a Muslim-American television channel yesterday pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife by beheading her.

Muzzammil Hassan, a Pakistani-American, is charged with second-degree murder for the death of Aasiya Hassan at the offices of Bridges TV in Buffalo. The 44-year-old businessman was remanded in jail.

The victim was stabbed several times and decapitated. The National Organisation for Women’s New York chapter has condemned her death as an honour killing.
