DURING the early years of their relationship Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy did their best to avoid making headlines, but in April 2007 their relationship became more public.

The pair were spotted watching England play Australia at the cricket World Cup, with pictures showing Harry kissing Davy.

Later that month they also appeared together watching Chelsea play in a Champions League match.

But it hasn’t always been plain sailing. There have been reports of the prince’s antics out on the town and pictures of him with other girls.

In September 2007, Harry reportedly got on the wrong side of his girlfriend after he was late to meet her at the airport.

A month later it was reported that the couple had separated after the prince missed her 22nd birthday to go to the Rugby World Cup Final.

According to the News of the World, Davy had also become tired of the prince’s reported playboy lifestyle and lack of commitment.

The newspaper said her friends had revealed that the relationship ended in a series of emotional telephone calls.

One told the newspaper the couple had worked better together when they lived 6,000 miles apart.

It was also reported that the cold Yorkshire weather, safety fears and difficulty making real friends were making her unhappy, as well as missing her friends in Cape Town where she shared a flat with her brother Shaun.
