Peacock eyes up fashion
A number of the birds live in Dunfermline’s Pittencrieff Park but often wander out into the town and along the high street where the shop is located.
Staff in the Fife town noticed that this particular peacock likes to shelter from the wind and rain in the tiled area in front of the doors.
It is normally too engrossed by the window displays to be bothered by passersby.
Store manager Martin Rae said: “It’s like we’ve got a wee extra customer.
“It has been looking at the fashions and seems to be looking at all the Christmas products.
“Sometimes it wanders away to look at other windows but it always comes back to ours.”
The bird started visiting Peacocks about a month ago when the weather worsened, but has not yet plucked up the courage to step inside.
CCTV co-ordinator Mark Waterfall said: “We’ve seen some unusual sights over the years — but this is the first time we’ve noticed one of our peacocks paying a visit to Peacocks.”
