Nine schoolboys who raped girl put behind bars

NINE schoolboy rapists, who laughed as they took part in a brutal assault on a 14-year-old girl, were behind bars yesterday.

Nine schoolboys who raped girl put behind bars

Her ordeal began when four of her attackers — aged as young as 13 at the time — confronted the “terrified” youngster, threw her against a fence and dragged her into the dingy stairwell of a nearby block of flats in Hackney, east London.

O’Neil “Hitman” Denton, 16, who, like six of his co-defendants had his anonymity order lifted by the judge, said the girl had to be punished for allegedly “insulting” him.

London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court heard the teenager, head of the Kings-hold Boys gang, warned if she did not do as she was told she would be stabbed.

She was then dragged to some other flats, orally raped by each youth, and then escorted to yet another block. The rest of the gang arrived and she was subjected to a carbon copy ordeal.

The girl finally escaped when a member of the public intervened.

The nine — from Hackney, Leytonstone and Bethnal Green in east London — were all given detention orders. Denton and Weiled Ibrahim, 17, who admitted rape, kidnap and false imprisonment on April 30 last year, were given indeterminate detention orders and told they must serve a minimum of three years and eight months before being eligible for parole.

Yusuf Raymond, 16, pleaded guilty to the same charges and received a nine-year sentence.

Six other defendants, who were variously convicted by the jury, were also dealt with.

Among them were Jayden Ryan, 16, eight years; Alexander Vanderpuije, 15, six years; Jack Bartle, 16, six years; and Cleon Brown, 15, six years.

All the defendants were ordered to register as sex offenders.
