Another death in county blighted by suicides

ANOTHER young person has been found dead in a county blighted by suicides.

South Wales Police are investigating the sudden death of a 23-year-old man from Bettws in Bridgend, Wales. He has not been named.

Twenty-two other people in or from Bridgend are believed to have killed themselves in the last 18 months.

The latest death is the fourth in Bettws since April. But police said the latest death is not believed to be linked to the other deaths.

The man’s family requested privacy from the media and time to grieve. The three men who earlier died in Bettws are all believed to be from the same street.

Councillor Christopher Michaelides said: “I’m quite shocked and I can’t understand why it’s happening. I don’t know a lot about [the latest death], but there’s no connection at all with the others. He’s not related and wasn’t friends with them.
