Children gassed by father are laid to rest

THE bodies of two children murdered on Father’s Day were laid to rest yesterday.

The lives of little Amy and Owen Philcox, gassed by their father Brian in his Land Rover two weeks ago, were celebrated in a 30-minute funeral with the vicar saying no one could answer why Philcox, aged 52, did what he did.

Addressing the 250 mourners at All Saints Church, in Daresbury, Cheshire, the Rev Canon David Felix said: “None of us here can understand or explain what drove Amy and Owen’s father to do what he did. I can offer you no answer to the question ‘why?’, a question which must be in the minds of us all here.”
