Mum’s the word for Britney’s teenage sister

Lindsey Nobles, a spokeswoman for Christian book publisher Thomas Nelson Inc, said yesterday the memoir by the mother of Britney Spears was put on hold last week. She declined to say whether the delay was connected to the revelation that Ms Spears’ 16-year-old daughter, Jamie Lynn, is pregnant.

“I can tell you that we are standing behind Lynne and supporting her decision to be with her family at this time,” said Ms Nobles.

Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World was scheduled for release on May 11 (Mother’s Day in the US) next year.

Jamie Lynn Spears, star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine she’s expecting her first child and the father is boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

“It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” she said. “I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”

She is 12 weeks’ pregnant and initially kept it to herself when she discovered the news.

Of premarital sex, she said: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait.

“But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”

Meanwhile, singer Lily Allen is pregnant with her first child.

The 22-year-old is “thrilled” to be expecting a baby with the Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons, 37.

A spokesman for Ms Allen said: “I am pleased to confirm that Lily Allen and her boyfriend, Ed Simons, are expecting their first child.”

Her new album will be released as planned next year.
