Omega-3 oils may lower health risks

A DIET rich in fish, omega-3 oils, fruit and vegetables could lower the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s, according to research published yesterday.

But consuming omega-6 rich oils such as sunflower or grapeseed oil could increase chances of developing memory problems.

A study published in Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology, examined the diets of 8,085 men and women aged over 65 years who did not have dementia at the beginning of the study.
