Hilton checks out early
The hotel heiress checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles just on Sunday to serve 23 days for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
Ms Hilton, 26, was released yesterday morning, gossip websites said.
“The deal was sealed yesterday, and Hilton made her exit early this morning,” said TMZ.
She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of three days.
During her stay, she was held in a special unit with 23 hours a day in a solitary cell, her lawyer, Richard Hutton, said.
The star pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge in January and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation.
When she was later pulled over by the California Highway Patrol, Ms Hilton was told she was on a suspended licence and signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive.
She was then pulled over by sheriff’s deputies on February 27 and charged with violating probation.
Mr Whitmore said: “I can’t specifically talk about the medical situation other than to say it played a part in this.’
Mr Whitmore said under the new agreement, she would be confined to her home for 40 days.
Ms Hilton was housed in the “special needs” unit of the jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates.
