Man shoots three dead in New York
The mother called New York police just before noon yesterday, saying “something terrible was going to happen”, said Assistant Chief Michael Collins.
When officers arrived moments later, they discovered the bodies at the two-storey house in the city’s Queens borough.
The mother, her boyfriend, who had been using a wheelchair after a recent stroke, and a home attendant, had been shot in the face, police said.
The boyfriend’s nephew, a 21-year-old man, told police a shot grazed his leg, causing him to fall into a closet, where he played dead. He later slipped out of a window. The 20-year-old gunman was found with a gunshot wound to the head and a semi-automatic pistol nearby on the second floor.
