Mass murderers ‘are competing to kill the most’

AUTHOR Lionel Shriver said murderers behind mass school shootings in the US “compete” with each other for the highest body count.

Ms Shriver said it was no coincidence the Virginia Tech shooting took place five days before the eighth anniversary of the Columbine massacre, when two students killed 12 other students and a teacher before taking their own lives.

And she warned that other would-be killers are “inspired” by the public outcry and international media frenzy each tragedy sparks.
