Scientist reveals bright look behind Murphy’s Sunshine

THE scientist behind the movie Sunshine said yesterday that his youthful looks prompted the film’s bosses to base one of the main characters on him.

Dr Brian Cox was the science adviser on the film and joked that he is claiming a percentage of Cork actor Cillian Murphy’s fee for his role as physicist Robert Capa.

In the movie, he is part of a space mission dispatched to revive the ailing sun by detonating a massive bomb near its core.
