FANCY a meal? For almost €23,000? Well, there’s still time to reserve a table.

Go on, spoil yourself: The €23,000 meal

The world’s top celebrity Michelin-starred chefs are taking refined cuisine and vintage wines to new heights this weekend for the world’s grandest Gala Dinner.

Six of the world’s 3 Star Michelin chefs will be creating an unforgettable dining experience in the grand finale for ‘Epicurean Masters of the World’ — a gourmet food and wine extravaganza.

The unique gala dinner is being held on the 65th floor of Bangkok’s award-winning The Dome at State Tower.

The meal will cost diners about €23,000 — excluding tax and service.

Fifteen people have reserved seats for the food fest so far — thought to be shipping, real estate and gaming magnates from across the world. The restaurant is still taking bookings.

The 11-course dinner begins with a creme brulee of foie gras, then on to Japanese beef tartare with beluga caviar, to veal cheeks with French truffles. It is then rounded off with gingerbread and salted butter ice-cream.

They will be served by: Chef Antoine Westermann of Buerehisel, Alsace, France; Chef Jean Michel Lorain — La Cote Saint Jacques, Joigny, France; Chef Marc Meneau — L’Esperance, Vezelay, France; Chef Annie Feolde — Enoteca Pinchiorri, Florence, Italy, the first Female chef ever to receive the coveted three Michelin Star rating for her restaurant; Heinz Winkler-Residenz Heinz Winkler, Bavaria, Germany; and Alain Solivèrés-Taillevent, Paris.

Deepak Ohri, managing director of the Dome restaurant, said the profits of the enterprise would go to charity, with the main motive behind it was to showcase Thailand as an up-market tourism destination and investment target.

“The clients are coming for the experience,” said Mr Ohri. “How often do you get some of the world’s best chefs, cooking their best dishes, all under one roof?”

Also coming are lobsters from Maine USA, oysters from France and southern Australia, beef from Japan, and black truffles from Perigord in the Dordogne.
