Christie’s art auction set to break sales records

CHRISTIE’S yesterday unveiled the masterpieces which could claim a new sales record in Europe.

Over £400 million (€600m) worth of art is going under the hammer at Sotheby’s and Christie’s biannual Impressionist, Modern, Post War and Contemporary Art sales next week.

Both auction houses could set a new record in Europe for a week of sales, by smashing the present high of £153m.
