Evicted Goody ‘scared’ of public reaction

JADE GOODY last night became the third person to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Jade, 25, was hot favourite to be booted off the show after being accused of racism following angry clashes with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

Instead of emerging from the house to face the usual crowds, the former dental nurse was being taken straight to a studio for an interview with presenter Davina McCall.

A worried looking Jade was close to tears after hearing the result of the public vote. Jade, who now has some inkling of the race row that is raging outside the Big Brother house, was reassured that Davina would look after her when she left.

Earlier, TV bosses banned crowds from confronting Jade, saying the evictee would be unaware of the “heated public debate” raging outside the house.

Jade pleaded with the show’s producers to let her avoid the eviction night crowd. She said she was “petrified” by the idea of facing the public “because people think I’m a racist bitch”.

“I’ve never been more scared in my life. I swear to that,” she said.

The Big Brother veteran will also be spared the post- eviction press conference.

Media watchdog Ofcom has received around 40,000 complaints about the show — some of them over editorial bias.

The penny dropped for Jade when Big Brother called her into the Diary Room last night and told her: “It has come to Big Brother’s attention that over the past few days you have made remarks which might be considered offensive about fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty.” Big Brother then read back her remarks about “Shilpa Poppadom”.
