Holy auction, Batman! Car set to sell for £75,000
The car, an original from the 1960s Adam West television series and a TV icon, is to be sold by top motoring auction house Coys.
Coys will exhibit the car at the Autosport Show which opens at the NEC in Birmingham tomorrow.
It was on show at Birmingham Children’s Hospital yesterday where patients and visitors could take a closer look.
Chris Routledge, from the auction house, said: “We know that lots of parents will bring their children to see the car on the stand at the show, but we thought that it would be great if we could let sick children, who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity, see the famous vehicle.”
The car is expected to fetch in excess of £75,000 when is it sold in London.
David Shepherd, deputy director and head of marketing at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, said: “Spending time in hospital can be difficult for children, so when an opportunity like this comes along to distract them from their daily treatment, our patients are delighted.”
