A FEMALE stalker who once broke into former Beatles guitarist George Harrison’s Hawaii home has been found dead in California, the victim of a murder-suicide, a police officer said.

Harrison stalker found dead in murder-suicide

Cristin Keleher, 34, made headlines in December 1999 by entering Mr Harrison’s Maui estate and then cooking herself a frozen pizza and helping herself to a root beer. After she did her laundry and called her mother, she was found by the security staff and charged with burglary.

She had apparently been stalking Mr Harrison for months.

On December 19 police in Truckee near California’s popular Lake Tahoe found her body and that of a 48-year-old man in a SUV vehicle, both with gunshot wounds to their heads, according to a coroner’s report.

“From the investigation it appears that she was shot first and then he shot himself, so it is a murder-suicide,” Nevada County Sheriff’s Sergeant Shannan Moon said this week. “It sounds like a closed case.”

Ms Keleher eventually served four months in prison for burglary and theft after the prosecution said she had been stalking Mr Harrison for years. She was released in August 2000.

Mr Harrison eventually succumbed to cancer in November 2001.
