MEXICAN leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has asked the courts to order a ballot-by-ballot recount in the presidential election.

Party representatives turned over to the court nine boxes containing alleged evidence of fraud and dirty campaign practices in the election.

The 900-page claim alleged some polling places had more votes than registered voters, that the ruling party funnelled government money to Felipe Calderon’s campaign, spending limits were violated and that a software programme was used to skew initial vote count reports.
