Storm havoc

TROPICAL storm Ewiniar lashed South Korea yesterday, forcing the closure of hundreds of schools and cancellation of dozens of flights, after killing four people in South Korea and one in Japan.

Storm havoc

The fast-moving storm battered South Korea’s south-eastern coast before whirling in a north-easterly path toward the Japan Sea, the Meteorological Administration said.

Ewiniar was 255 miles south of Seoul this afternoon, and its eye was expected to come within 50 miles south-east of the capital later in the day, it said.
