Katie’s mission: to make a post natal impression
The actress attended a special fan screening of Mission: Impossible III in Los Angeles — the first time she had ventured out in public since daughter Suri was born.
And she looked in remarkable shape for a new mum — albeit a little tired.
Holmes, 27, wore a loose-fitting black dress as she dutifully hit the promotional trail with Cruise, posing for pictures on the red carpet and joining him in the now customary marathon autograph-signing session.
Cruise arrived at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in a Bugatti Veyron, said to be the world’s fastest road car.
There were whoops of delight from the crowd when he walked around to the passenger side and brought out his fiancee.
The 43-year-old actor, who has two adopted children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, has described the birth of Suri as “sublime”.
He said: “It was spiritual, it was powerful, it was indescribable. What words can you use? It’s still something I’m processing and reliving.”
Meanwhile, Cruise and Holmes have finally signed a pre-nuptial agreement, and it could make Katie a very rich lady, according to reports yesterday
After months of legal wrangling, Holmes and Suri have already been given an €11.35 million trust fund that is theirs to keep whether the marriage goes ahead or not. An additional €20m is being set aside should the marriage fail.
Cruise and Holmes discussed the agreement longer than anticipated, reportedly because Katie’s father, a divorce lawyer, is still unconvinced about the relationship.
“Katie’s family have always been very sceptical about this romance,” a source close to Holmes said.
“But now this deal has been sorted out they are at least relieved that Katie and her baby will be financially secure for life, even if she doesn’t marry Tom.”
Cruise was described by Hollywood economist Edward Jay Epstein as “one of the most powerful — and richest — forces in Hollywood”.
