Bertie jets in for beauty salon appointment

IT was like old times during a special reunion in Limerick last night. Bertie and Celia together again, both doing that routine for the cameras they did thousands of times as an international couple.

But this time it was more a friendly duet. Or a 'temporary arrangement' as another Fianna Fáil Taoiseach might say.

There was no Wall of China to form a spectacular setting but the salubrious surroundings of Celia's beauty clinic at the Castletroy Park Hotel did just fine. The Taoiseach, who was on a visit to the Mid-West, dropped in to wish his ex all the best in her new venture.

Addressing more than 300 guests, the Taoiseach said: "When Celia puts her mind to anything, she will move heaven and earth."

Celia, thanking all those who helped her in her new venture, said: "Bertie has always been a rock of support."

It's Celia Larkin's second Beauty at the Blue Door Salon. The first is located in the heart of Bertieland Drumcondra in Dublin.

As well as beauty therapy, Celia gives image and personal branding coaching.

Somebody speculated that Bertie might have got an inkling from private opinion polls that he needs to brush up on presentation and dropped in for a hint or two from Celia.

Although she has only moved from her Dublin base recently, Celia is already rebuilding her celebrity status in the Mid-West.

On Tuesday, she will perform the official opening of a one-day seminar organised by Enterprise Boards in the Mid-West.

Celia won't have difficulty settling into the lakeside village of Killaloe as neighbours include fellow Dubs Brendan Grace and Crona Byrne, daughter of Gay.

His courtesy call complete, Bertie headed back to Shannon to catch a flight to Dublin and then on to a late-night function in Co Meath.

A schedule Celia, no doubt, won't miss as she returned to her lakeside retreat last night in Killaloe.
