Pope meets families of bomb victims

POPE John Paul hugged some of the children whose fathers perished last year in the truck bombing of the Italian military barracks in Nasiriyah, Iraq.

The pontiff received some of the relatives of the 19 Italians who were killed on November 12, 2003.

Italy marked the anniversary last week with solemn ceremonies both at home and in the southern Iraqi city, where the Italian military contingent is still based.
