AN author who claims to have definitive proof of Elvis’ Scottish ancestry has set tongues wagging in the rural village where the King’s ancestors were said to have originated.

Writer Allan Morrison has traced Presley's roots back 250 years to Lonmay, in Aberdeenshire in north-east Scotland.

Despite this being one of several claims about Presley's origins, Morrison based in Greenock, near Glasgow insisted his as yet unpublished book, The Presley Prophecy, would stand up to scrutiny. It challenges the popular belief that Elvis's family tree could be traced back to a Paisley blacksmith who emigrated in 1745.
