Sky One has ‘no plans’ to offer Leslie a job

JOHN LESLIE’S television future was uncertain last night after Sky One announced it had “no plans” to offer him a presenting job.

Sky One has ‘no plans’ to offer Leslie a job

The television channel said it had not offered Leslie a return to the small screen after he was linked with a £1 million deal last night.

Leslie is still celebrating after sex charges against him were dropped and the Scotsman was linked with a return to television with the satellite channel.

But a statement issued by the channel last night said: “Sky One has no plans to employ John Leslie.”

Yesterday, Leslie’s spokesman said the 6ft 5in star was considering a £1m television deal to front his own prime-time talk show.

Sky One allegedly offered him his own one-hour talk show, aired five days a week, which would start in October. But a Sky One spokesman last night refused to say whether any such offer had been made or say anything further to the brief statement which was released yesterday evening. Leslie’s spokesman, James Herring, previously also said several companies had expressed an interest in filming a documentary on Leslie.

Mr Herring said there was “going to be no quick fix” to sorting out the star’s shattered life.

“He has sold his story to the Express, something he had to do as he has been rendered financially destitute as a result of the last 12 months,” said Mr Herring.
