Viridian eyes plans for second power station

THE Northern Ireland electricity firm Viridian said it was considering building a second power station in Dublin following the opening of the Huntstown plant last year.

Viridian, which owns the North Dublin site, says a second combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) station is being evaluated by the company.

The plans are being considered and the successful bidder will enter into a contract with ESB which substantially secures the revenue of the station for up to a period of 10 years.
