Men cleared of Central Park jogger attack file $50m lawsuit

THREE men, convicted but later cleared of the 1989 attack of a jogger in Central Park, will file a federal lawsuit seeking $50 million in damages for each of them, said their lawyer on Sunday.

The suit, which was to be filed yesterday, will name the city, the New York Police Department, current and former police officers and the Manhattan district attorney's office, said attorney Jonathan Moore.

The three men Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana and Antron McCray were among five convicted in the near-fatal attack on the 28-year-old jogger.
