"It's over" says Jolie, as Billy Bob promotes album while she is left holding the baby

ANGELINA JOLIE says her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton is over after she was left holding their baby while he went on tour to promote an album he recently recorded.

The Tomb Raider star said she had not spoken to her Oscar-winning husband for at least a month: “I’m angry. I’m sad. It’s a very difficult and sad time. He’s focused on his music career. I’m focused on my baby. Sometimes, you don’t see things coming, even though they are happening. It was a real deep connection, a deep marriage, so it’s not that simple to say this or that one thing caused the problems.”

Thornton, whose recent movies include The Man Who Wasn’t There and Monster’s Ball, declined to comment though a spokesperson insisted: “they remain very married.”

Jolie, 27, wed Thornton, 46, after a whirlwind courtship in Las Vegas in 2000, the same year she won a best-supporting actress Oscar for Girl, Interrupted.

Thornton was dating actress Laura Dern when he became involved with Jolie. It was Thornton’s fifth marriage and Jolie’s second.

Thornton won an Oscar in 1997 for best screenplay for Sling Blade, for which he was also nominated for best actor.

The couple’s wild love life has been media fodder; at one time, they wore vials of each other’s blood around their necks. The couple recently adopted a son, Maddox, from Cambodia.

While Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, has been spending time with Maddox, Thornton, who has a hobby as a musician, is touring to promote the album. Jolie and her 11-month-old son are living in a hotel away from the couple’s Beverly Hills home; she says she is unsure of where Thornton has been staying.
